Women of Interest and Wellington Sustainability Group invite Gippslanders to a timely discussion on the Geothermal potential of our region, from 6.30pm at Duart in Maffra on Wednesday July the 27th, 2011.
Guests are asked to dress up sustainably, which means you wear something that is either hand made, recycled or at least 5 years old! Jenny Feist from Women of Interest explained that, “It’s all about avoiding overt consumerism“.
In keeping with this theme, the Christmas tradition of Kris Kringle is also designed to be consumption free. If Guests would like to be part of this novel gift exchange, they are invited to contribute something sustainable which might be home grown, homemade or recycled.
Christmas Dinner will have a focus on local and seasonal produce , with a passing nod to mediaeval feasting. The chef is excited about the idea, so expect it to be quite special!
The final important part of the evening will be an address from Professor Rachel Webster of Melbourne University, who will enlighten us as to what is involved and how Gippsland might benefit from it ‘s excellent Geothermal potential.
So get frocked up in your “old Favourite” winter warmers and come for an evening of good food, good company and some thought provoking information on our clean energy potential.
